Paintings

My oil paintings serve as a reminder of our shared existence—that each passerby carries a life of their own. I paint interiors as portraits of life in the absence of their inhabitants, capturing the quiet moments that remain when they step away.  There is beauty in the mundane, like sunlight spilling over books or the pause of a lingering thought. To achieve a calm feeling, I use earthy tones and muted colors. Drawing inspiration from artists like Edward Hopper, I play with stark contrasts between light and shadows from windows to suggest a sense of the outside world intruding on the inside.

When I incorporate figures in my paintings, they are both technical and introspective. I approach the figure with precision and care, focusing on the interplay of light, shadow, and texture to create a lifelike presence. By carefully blending and enhancing their contours and expressions, I aim to make these figures feel as though they inhabit the space in a deeply personal, intimate way—inviting viewers to connect with the figure's quiet inner world.
